For years, burying a large animal legally simply wasn't possible in Arizona. That changed through a lot of hard work and changed laws. Today, large animals like horses can be buried at a certified facility, and we're proud to make that option available to our clients.
We partner with a certified waste management facility that takes this work seriously. Not just for the environment, though that matters. For the families too. Their staff prepares an area before we arrive and covers the animal immediately. It's a dignified process from start to finish.
Burying large numbers of animals without oversight can contaminate land and groundwater. A certified, regulated facility is the only legal and responsible burial solution we have, and we're comfortable enough with it that our own horses rest there.
Many families choose cremation. For equine cremation over 500 pounds, we handle the entire process: we come directly to your stable, home, or equine clinic, transport your companion in our specially designed trailer, and coordinate the cremation through the University of Arizona's Arizona Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory.
